About me
Thanh-Binh Nguyen is currently an Assistant Lecturer at Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence (DSAI), Faculty of Information Technology, Monash University, Australia. His main role is to contribute to the excellent teaching and education porfolio for data science and machine learning related units at Monash University.
Before joining Monash, he was an Applied Data Scientist at VinAI Research (Vietnam), a Researsch Fellow at Deakin University (Australia), a Data Scientist Credit AI Pty Ltd (the Melbourne-based AI research lab of TrustingSocial FinTech firm), and a Lecturer at Can Tho University (Vietnam).
Thanh-Binh obtained his PhD degree at PRaDA (Pattern Recognition and Data Analytics) Strategic Research Centre (Deakin University), under a strong, supportive and inspirative supervision team including prof. Dinh Phung, prof. Svetha Venkatesh, Dr. Wei Luo and prof. Terry Caelli. He obtained his M.Sc degree from Nantes University, France and his B.Eng from Can Tho University, Vietnam.
At his young ages, he was a gifted student specialised in mathematics in Can Tho province (Vietnam). He was also a national chess master and Vietnam youth chess champion.
